As I take a moment to reflect on the accomplishments of 2024, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the exceptional journey we have undertaken together. This past year has been marked by significant growth, fruitful collaborations, and the establishment of new relationships that have enriched our community. Collectively, we have forged a robust network that inspires and uplifts each member, creating a foundation for a brighter future.

The new 2025 Women’s Council of REALTORS® Austin officers officially took their positions on Nov. 12, 2024. I am honored to serve as the 2025 president alongside a powerhouse team: Sherri Monroe as president-elect, Renee Damron as treasurer, Edmarie Mason as events director, Leanna Borsellino as first vice president, Ashley Hesch leading marketing and social media, and Maggie Luce overseeing education. Together, we are committed to bringing value and growth to our Austin network.
December marked the perfect finale to an incredible year with our sold-out event, Strike a Pose. This unique gathering equipped our members with professional headshots, business planning tools, tips for success, and the opportunity to craft a vision board. After all, without clear goals or a vision, how can we chart the course for success? We are focused on helping members grow into leadership and prepare to hit the ground running in 2025.

As the president of the Women’s Council of Realtors Austin, I am thrilled to share some exciting updates and upcoming events that will greatly benefit our members and the broader real estate community. Our recent “Toes, Tidbits, and Bingo” event was a success. Attendees enjoyed engaging in bingo while also gaining valuable knowledge from slides provided regarding NAR and buyer agent techniques to show their value. Events like these exemplify our focus on providing our members with value to help them grow professionally and as leaders.
2025 Elections
Elections for the state have been completed. Congratulations to the 2025 Texas Board and District Vice Presidents. Our 2025 local council elections are just around the corner, set for July 18. I hope to see all members there. I look forward to the innovative strategies and dynamic leadership these individuals will contribute, helping us grow stronger and more connected.

Save the date: August 24. We will host our “Reels for Real Estate” class, where you’ll learn how to create engaging real estate reels in less than five minutes. Don’t miss this opportunity to elevate your marketing game and stay ahead in the competitive real estate market.
September 11, we will bring you an insightful panel discussion on seller and buyer challenges, hosted at the Austin Board of REALTORS main headquarters. Our second annual and highly popular Purse Bingo event will be held on Wednesday, July 31. The event is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. and a north Austin location will be announce soon. Join us for an evening of excitement and camaraderie as we come together to play for fabulous prizes.
Additionally, we are excited to announce the upcoming elections for our 2025 board. This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated individuals to step up and take on leadership roles within our organization. Tanya Chappell will automatically assume the role of President next year, and we are now seeking passionate individuals to join her in shaping the future of our network. Positions available include President Elect, First Vice President, Treasurer, Membership, and Events. If you have a drive to make a difference and are eager to contribute your skills and expertise, we encourage you to consider applying for one of these pivotal roles. We are thrilled to announce the 16th annual TREPAC Cake Auction event at the Austin Board of REALTORS®! The Women’s Council of REALTORS® has a rich history of supporting TREPAC, and this event is one of our highlights of the year. Not only do we get to share why you see us proudly wearing purple, but we also have an exciting lineup of activities planned. Join us for a fun-filled evening featuring cakes and gifts, as well as special appearances by Leslie Cantu and Ron Oliveira. Indulge in heavy appetizers and toast to a great cause at our champagne bar. All proceeds from the auction will go towards your TREPAC investment.
Our monthly business-building coffee meetups have been a huge success, and I want to express my gratitude for recognizing their value. Each gathering offers a fresh topic for discussion, along with occasional pop-by supplies. In January, we delved into business planning, followed by pop-bys & reels in February, and farming in March. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates on upcoming meetups.
In February, we hosted an event featuring Colin Newberry, who delivered valuable insights on LLCs, including series LLCs, and their suitability for your needs. The information shared was highly informative, sparking engaging discussions and allowing for in-depth Q&A sessions and networking opportunities. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making the event a success!
In March, we organized a members-only meet-up focused on establishing a referral network based on various niches. It was a fantastic opportunity to offer value to our members and facilitate the creation of potential business opportunities.
Be sure to watch out for our upcoming Mother’s Day event in May and our exciting Purse Bingo event in July. Both gatherings provide wonderful opportunities for client appreciation and networking.

The market has been changing, and so are we! It feels like the activity in the Austin market is getting busier as spring approaches. Our February was full of activities from our organization, including events at the Texas Realtors conference, learning all about LLC’s and making better reels, and meeting up to make popby’s.
With everything February had to offer, we are kicking off March with a members only virtual networking event. As the market is picking up and people are reaching out, this is prime time for us to build relationships between the different networks and provide referral business based on the different niches.
If you haven’t joined us yet, this is such a great opportunity! It is still early in the year, and this year is built around supporting our members and helping you achieve the success you are dreaming of. We would love to hear from you!
